Grove Fiber Lookup
Fiber in any food, inside ChatGPT and Claude
Grove Fiber Lookup is a free connector. It gives your AI assistant the fiber in 7,793 foods, taken from USDA FoodData Central, SR Legacy (2018-04). You ask in plain words and the assistant answers with USDA numbers.
What it can do
- Search foods. Finds foods by name and shows the fiber in each.
- Fiber in a food. Fiber grams for the amount you ask about, with the percent of the 28 g Daily Value.
- Add up fiber in a meal or day. Totals several foods and compares the total with a daily goal.
- Highest-fiber foods. Ranks common foods by fiber, overall or inside one food group.
- Count plants toward 30 a week. Counts the different plants in a list. Repeats and varieties count once.
Things to ask
- How much fiber is in a cup of black beans?
- I had oatmeal, a banana and a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat. How much fiber is that?
- Which fruits have the most fiber per serving?
- I ate oats, lentils, spinach, garlic, almonds and blueberries this week. How many plants is that toward 30?
How to connect
Add a custom connector in your assistant and paste this address: https://fiber.grovefiberapp.com/api/mcp
There is no login and no key. The connector only reads food data.
Where the numbers come from
Every number is from USDA FoodData Central, SR Legacy. These are lab averages for each food. A packaged product can differ from its label, so check the label when you have one. "High in fiber" and "good source of fiber" follow the FDA label rules: 20% or more of the 28 g Daily Value per serving is high, and 10% to 19% is a good source.
The connector gives food facts. It does not give medical advice.
Privacy
The connector has no accounts and stores nothing about you. See the privacy policy and terms of use.
